Sofa Search Continues...
I have a confession: I have a newfound love of sectionals. Not all sectionals mind you...mainly ones like this (preferably, in charcoal):
I want it, I need it, oh baby, oh baby. Anyone get the reference?
....*crickets*....
It's 10 Things I Hate About You! (the movie, NOT the spin off TV show)
We have saved up just about enough for it.....but WHY must it have a 10 week lead time? That is SUCH a long time!
Yeah, I went there.

Mrs. A

Geek Packing
This is how I envision our moving truck
Granted, we might need a few moving trucks if that is the case....let's just say my hubby has more than 1...

Moving...
We will be moving in 52 days! Commence OPERATION: Empty the Freezer/Cabinets. I have discovered that we have a really random assortment of food in the apartment that MUST be consumed before we move (less to carry).
Meal planning was fairly easy this week...the next 2 weeks will be interesting. At least this will cut down on our weekly food budget. I may run out of creative ideas though....I consider it a challenge that I accept!

Menu Monday
I am attempting a new feature on here: Menu Monday. My goal is to make my weekly menu ahead of time. Here goes installment numero uno:

Teal
I have to say, I love me some teal. Teal bedding, teal accessories, teal scarves, teal clothing, teal furniture:
...and now teal walls:
We have been tossing around the idea of painting an accent wall in the new apartment, but what color? Teal might be too bold or too dark if the apartment we choose is lacking in natural light. What about a neutral gray? We're still talking about ordering the couch we like in a warm charcoal to keep the furniture neutral-ish. I could just accessorize until my heart was content....decisions, decisions....
Also, we are loving YoungHouseLove.com's idea for inspiration off of a napkin from Crate and Barrel (for the record, we had them first):
I'll try to work up an inspiration board to work in some of our ideas.....
XOXO,
Mrs. A

Boring Bulletin Board
I suffer from BBB Syndrome - you know- boring bulletin board syndrome (duh). I have a rather large bulletin board that was given to me as a child. It has never been painted, and is now missing some wooden knobs. I have been brainstorming ways to utilize it at our new place so it is decorative and functional. Here are some of the ideas I like so far:
I'm thinking maybe we could paint the frame a dark blue (we already have the paint) and then to find a fabric....

Mrs. A

Decoration Inspiration
What does the word "moving" elicit images of for you? Boxes? A big box truck? Panic? For me, all I see are white, empty walls. I hate white walls, but I hate empty wall more. They taunt me. I have successfully put something on most walls of our current apartment so they aren't barren. But, those pictures will be taken down and packed up. Ugh! To keep me going, I research projects and picture arrangements. Like so:
I think I'm starting to sense a theme...........

Mrs. A

Operation FIND A COUCH
Hello Again!
Quick update on the life of M&S:
Still planning on moving in May
Looking to buy a house next year
Looking forward to mini vacations planned fo this Spring/Summer (will be in separate post)
Current Agenda: FIND A COUCH
Operation FIND A COUCH has gotten off to a bumpy start. We didn't agree about fabric, size, of color until we found "the one" - only to have our sofa-loving dreams squashed by the manufacturer discontinuing the model we liked. So back to square one we went. Then, we found this one:
We can pick the fabric and color! Just one issue....we'll have over 1500 choices! Where on earth do we start?
Until next time.
XOXO,
Mrs. A
